On October 19th the Wilsonville Public Library Foundation hosted its third annual Evening of Imagination for over 120 library supporters. The night was filled with food, friends, fun, and support for the Wilsonville Public Library.
The evening began with guests eagerly bidding and out bidding on a bountiful table of silent auciton items from generous contributors from the business community.
Guests shared their dinner tables with a Foundation Board member for conversation about the many programs offered to our community through the Foundation. Kimberly Howard (pictured with Foundation President Hilly Alexander) from the Oregon Cultural Trust told diners about the improtant tax advantages of matching donations. Youth Services Librarians Steven Engelfried and Terri Wortman entertained guests with a performance of 'Pete the Cat - I love my white shoes', and demonstrated the Bernoulli Effect using a simple plastic bag. Both of these are an example of how children can be engaged with science through the library's Science Adventure programs.
This evening brought in donations totaling about $9,000 to continue providing programs, such as those that you see on the What We Do page, to members of our community and library users of all ages.
The Foundation would like to thank local magician (and Financial Advisor for Edward Jones) Scott Anderson for being the evening's master of ceremonies.
