“Science Adventure” continues to be a big part of our summer programs for kids. Several hundred kids will earn a cool science prize by completing at least ten “science explorations” over the summer. Everyone who signs up receives a forty-page Science Guidebook to help with ideas for activities. Summer Reading off to a great start and the Foundation steps in to broaden its impact. Summer Reading is off to a great start. Even though it’s not strictly a Foundation initiative, we all can celebrate when 1,750 kids sign up to read 20 minutes per day for 20 days over the summer. Wilsonville Public Library has hosted a growing and increasingly popular genealogy club during the past year. The free club is open to both inexperienced and experienced genealogists, and focuses on introducing participants to new tools and research tips to aid in family research. Previous meeting topics have included library resources and databases, genealogy for beginners, useful genealogy websites, immigration and passenger list research, common genealogical abbreviations, and evaluation of software for Macintosh and PC.
