Wilsonville Public Library has hosted a growing and increasingly popular genealogy club during the past year. The free club is open to both inexperienced and experienced genealogists, and focuses on introducing participants to new tools and research tips to aid in family research. Previous meeting topics have included library resources and databases, genealogy for beginners, useful genealogy websites, immigration and passenger list research, common genealogical abbreviations, and evaluation of software for Macintosh and PC.
Club meetings are held in the library at 1pm on the third Monday of each month, and are open to all. At each meeting, participants are introduced to genealogy tools and topics, with open discussion following. Participants are encouraged to bring any general or specific genealogy questions to the attention of the Club during this time.
