NATURAL CURIOSITY
It is gratifying to watch how a child’s imagination, sparked by simple physics or chemistry experiments, unleashes a curiosity about her surroundings.
With the Foundation’s help, the Library created Science Adventure, a program now part of the traditional Summer Reading Program.
- Science Adventure encourages children to engage in science over the summer by introducing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) concepts.
- Children who complete 10 experiments or explorations receive a simple science tool to continue exploring.
- With the Foundation’s support, the Library brings science classes to the Library.
- The Foundation pays for prizes including the annual grand prize: a one-year family membership at Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI).
