We’ve had a good year. Deborah Gitlitz, our Outreach Librarian, has been making contact throughout the City to parent groups, apartment houses, and anywhere else folks gather to take early literacy messages to families. She has been visiting a Head Start program at the Coffee Creek Correctional Facility. She’s been meeting with Hispanic parents at Boeckman Creek Primary. The Wilsonville Public Library Foundation has had another successful year raising money for the Wilsonville Library in 2016. We thank our donors for their generosity. From 1st graders petting a Madagascar Hissing Cockroach to an eleven year old testing ph levels of plants, the Wilsonville Public Library’s “Summer Science Adventure,” now in its fourth year, inspires kids and families to explore science in a variety of ways: Science Logs: Every child who signed up for the Summer Reading Program also received a “Science Log.” Their challenge: to complete at least 10 science activities over the summer.
