The Wilsonville Public Library Foundation has elected Bob Renfro as its new Board President.Renfro, who previously served as the Foundation’s Vice President, assumed his new duties in January. The Foundation was previously led by Caroline Berry who now serves as Vice President.
Renfro brings nearly four decades of library experience to his role as Foundation President. His career began at the Multnomah County Library. He then went on to library positions at the University of Washington, Eastern Washington University, Gonzaga University and at the Fort Vancouver Regional Library before returning to the Multnomah County Library where he spent the final 34 years of his career. Renfro earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies at Oregon State University and later received a Master of Librarianship degree from the University of Washington.
“Although I loved my career as a librarian, when I retired two years ago, I knew it was time to try something new,” Renfro said. “Being on the board of directors for the Wilsonville Public Library Foundation has given me the opportunity to pursue new interests and still be a part of the library world. The Foundation plays an important role in the cultural life of our city and it is an honor to be asked to serve as its leader.”
