Kathryn Dessayer Whittaker

Arbitrator, Retired Attorney

Libraries have been a beautiful through line in my life. My earliest memories include story times while visiting my grandmother and witnessing my childhood hometown’s library move from a postal annex to a free-standing building where it thrives today. Fast forward to my collegiate days where I spent hours in the libraries on the UC Berkeley campus, and then in the stacks of the Michigan Law Library where I edited articles for the Law Review. I so love and appreciate a library vibe that I became a card-carrying member of the Library of Congress when I lived and worked in Washington DC. It was a full-circle moment when I moved to Oregon and had the pleasure of taking my own children to library story times in and around Wilsonville.

I am now honored to contribute my time and skills to support our local library through the work of the Wilsonville Public Library Foundation. I look forward to helping advance the Foundation’s mission of fundraising to provide programs and resources for all. I am also proud to work alongside dedicated board members who share a vision of ensuring that our library remains a cornerstone of discovery, inspiration, and learning for generations to come.
