In memory of Dolly

1946 – 2026

We are mourning the loss of Dolly Parton, a guiding light for so many of us. Dolly inspired us to bring her Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to Wilsonville in 2011. Dolly’s program mails books to children from birth until their 5th birthday at no cost to the parents. Since 2012 we have mailed more than 119,000 high quality age-appropriate books with the support of our generous donors. Many of us, children and adults alike, will miss Dolly. The Library has set up a table where library visitors can leave a note to Dolly.

Dolly is no longer with us but her Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library continues as strong as ever. The Wilsonville Public Library Foundation manages the program here in Wilsonville. We work with the wonderful staff at the Wilsonville Public Library to promote early literacy and reading together to our youngest children.

We gratefully accept donations to pay for the books and postage. 60% of eligible children in Wilsonville receive books from Dolly.
