Gift to the Foundation

Al Rogers, author of “Peonies”, gave a rather unique gift to the Foundation. He signed over the royalties from his book to the Library Foundation yesterday. The book was published in 1995 and is still in demand. Take a look at it (635.8362 PEONIES in the non-fiction collection). Al is 91 now and regrets not having thought of this sooner. The WPLF was pleased to participate in the 2013 Wilsonville Kiwanis Kid’s Fun Run with a booth designed to introduce children to the Wilsonville Library Science Adventure program. 2013 Board of Directors We have been Wilsonville Library Foundation board directors for about 5 years now and are excited about launching this blog. It gives us the opportunity to tell people about the great work the Foundation does, sort of behind the scenes, to help the Library thrive. We’ll update you on how many kids attend Science Adventure programs this summer and we’ll tell you about new opportunities the Library is pursuing with our financial help.Read More
“Science Adventure” continues to be a big part of our summer programs for kids. Several hundred kids will earn a cool science prize by completing at least ten “science explorations” over the summer. Everyone who signs up receives a forty-page Science Guidebook to help with ideas for activities.
