The WPLF was pleased to participate in the 2013 Wilsonville Kiwanis Kid’s Fun Run with a booth designed to introduce children to the Wilsonville Library Science Adventure program. Proceeds from the Fun Run were designated to support the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, a program we support as well with help from your donations.
The Science Adventure program was started to parallel the Summer Reading program at the Library to further interest children in science through various activities that they and their parents can do from home as well as through programs held at the Library. WPLF Board members were kept busy all morning with “kids” doing many of the various science activities available to them. Just seeing the wonderment and excitement in the children performing the experiments reinforced the decision the WPLF made to fund Science Adventure. It has, and will, pay big dividends to these children, their families and the community in the future.
