Spring Update from Pat Duke, Library Director

We’ve had a good year. Deborah Gitlitz, our Outreach Librarian, has been making contact throughout the City to parent groups, apartment houses, and anywhere else folks gather to take early literacy messages to families. She has been visiting a Head Start program at the Coffee Creek Correctional Facility. She’s been meeting with Hispanic parents at Boeckman Creek Primary. Does your preschooler get free books?

Jan Rippey is holding a birthday cake to celebrate the 4th Anniversary of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Wilsonville. There are currently about 700 Wilsonville kids signed up to receive books once a month until they turn 5 years old. Over the last 4 years nearly 500 kids have graduated from the program.
