We’ve had a good year. Deborah Gitlitz, our Outreach Librarian, has been making contact throughout the City to parent groups, apartment houses, and anywhere else folks gather to take early literacy messages to families. She has been visiting a Head Start program at the Coffee Creek Correctional Facility. She’s been meeting with Hispanic parents at Boeckman Creek Primary. The Wilsonville Public Library Foundation has had another successful year raising money for the Wilsonville Library in 2016. We thank our donors for their generosity. Jan Rippey is holding a birthday cake to celebrate the 4th Anniversary of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Wilsonville. There are currently about 700 Wilsonville kids signed up to receive books once a month until they turn 5 years old. Over the last 4 years nearly 500 kids have graduated from the program. Wilsonville Library presents, Weaving for the Home, which features the work of Oregon handwoven textile artist Marlene Lloyd. The handwoven textile show runs July 1-31 in the main lobby of the library located at 8200 SW Wilsonville Road. Marlene Lloyd draws her color inspiration from nature, the rich reds, deep purples, and lovely shades of orange from her walks in urban neighborhoods, parks, mountains and the desert.
